Rain and fog patches beginning this evening changing to flurries Tuesday evening.

Temperatures minus 2 rising to plus 6 Tuesday morning then falling to plus 1 Tuesday evening.

Issued 10:00 AM AST 17 January 2022 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. AST today low 983 mb located southwest of Long Island.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 982 mb located over Maine.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Tuesday low 980 mb located over western Labrador.

At 10:00 a.m. AST today departing ridge located over the eastern
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:45 AM AST 17 January 2022 An intense low pressure system developing along the Eastern Seaboard
of the U.S. will track northeastward today and tonight to lie over
Western Labrador by Tuesday morning. Gale to storm force southerly
winds will develop ahead of this system, while strong to gale force
westerly winds are forecast in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti - western half, which
have gale warnings.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan,
Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.

Marine interests are also advised that a high water level warning is
in effect for the southern coastline of Newfoundland. Additionally,
higher than normal water levels and rough seas are expected along the
Atlantic Coast near high tide this evening.
