Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM AST 11 December 2025 Today Tonight and Friday At 10:00 a.m. AST today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over East Scotian Slope.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing trough located over the Grand
Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. AST today low 989 mb located near the Gaspe Peninsula.
By 3:30 p.m. AST today low 980 mb located over the northern Gulf
of St. Lawrence.

At 8:00 p.m. AST Friday departing low 968 mb located over Labrador
Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:49 AM AST 11 December 2025 A trough of low pressure is tracking across southern waters today to
lie over the Grand Banks by this evening. Strong to gale force
southerly winds are forecast ahead of this feature.

A low pressure system near the Gaspé Peninsula will continue slowly
moving north-northeastward to lie over the Northern Gulf of St.
Lawrence waters by this afternoon. Strong to gale force easterly
winds are occurring ahead of the low. Strong to gale force westerly
winds will develop south of the low late in the day today. On Friday,
westerly winds will approach storm force strength over southern
waters. Winds will begin to diminish Friday night as the low departs
the region to the northeast.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.

Additionally, freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand
Manan, Northumberland Strait, Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti -
northwestern half.
