Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM AST 8 December 2024 Tonight and Monday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 1002 mb located over the Maritimes.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Monday departing low 999 mb located over
Newfoundland.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Monday approaching ridge located west of the
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:48 PM AST 8 December 2024 A low pressure system over Maine will track eastward across the
Maritimes to lie over Newfoundland Monday morning. Gale to storm
force southerly winds will develop ahead of the low while strong to
gale force westerly winds are forecast in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - eastern half and Laurentian Fan - eastern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for Fourchu, Banquereau - western half,
Laurentian Fan - western half, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait -
eastern half, Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti. Freezing spray warnings
are in effect for Northumberland Strait - western half,
Chaleur-Miscou, and Anticosti.

      • Use the ↑ Up key to select the link above. If none are selected, it will select the first link.
      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
  • Restore default list
