of Newfoundland.
At 3:30 p.m. AST today low 1007 mb located over the Gulf of Maine.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Tuesday low 1000 mb located over the northeastern
Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:40 PM AST 19 January 2026 Strong to gale force westerly winds over eastern waters will diminishthis evening as a low pressure system over Newfoundland continues
tracking northeastward.
A second low over the Gulf of Maine will move northeast to lie over
the Northeastern Gulf of St. Lawrence Tuesday morning. Strong to gale
force southwest winds are expected south and west of this low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Lurcher, Browns Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, eastern shore,
Sable - western half, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan,
Northumberland Strait - western half, Gulf-Magdalen - western half,
Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.
Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, and all Gulf of St Lawrence waters.
