Issued 3:30 PM AST 17 January 2020 Tonight and Saturday At 3:30 p.m. AST today intensifying low 961 mb located over the
southwestern Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 958 mb located northeast of
Newfoundland.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday ridge located west of the Marine District.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday ridge located from Quebec to West
Scotian Slope.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:16 PM AST 17 January 2020 An intensifying low pressure system over Southwestern Grand Banks
will move to lie northeast of Newfoundland by Saturday morning and
continue to out to sea later on Saturday. Gale to hurricane force
northerlies can be expected in the wake of the low. Diminishing winds
are expected on Saturday as a ridge of high pressure builds in from
the west.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Banquereau and Laurentian Fan. Storm warnings are in
effect for eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, and
Cabot Strait. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining regions.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except Georges
Bank.
