Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:51 PM NST 18 January 2020 An intense low pressure system south of Greenland will depart
tonight. Strong to gale northwesterly winds in the wake of the low
will diminish tonight as the low moves away and a ridge of high
pressure approaches from the west.
A second low will approach the marine district from the southwest on
Sunday. Gale force east to southeasterlies will develop over southern
waters ahead of the low by Sunday evening.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Southwest Coast, South Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and
Southwestern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south.
