Issued 8:00 PM NST 17 January 2020 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 960 mb located southeast of the
Avalon Peninsula.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday low 959 mb located south of Greenland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:57 PM NST 17 January 2020 An exceptionally intense low pressure system just southeast of the
Avalon Peninsula will move to lie northeast of the marine district on
Saturday. Gale to storm force easterlies ahead of the low and storm
to hurricane force northerlies in its wake will gradually diminish
throughout the day on Saturday as it departs.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Coast, East Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island
Bank, and Northern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle - western half and Gulf
waters where gale warnings are in effect.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.

Marine interests are further advised that high water level warnings
are in effect for East Coast and Northeast Coast.
