Issued 2:05 PM EDT 18 July 2026 Squalls with wind gusts up to 50 knots, frequent lightning and hail of 2 to 4 centimetres are expected or occurring in the area.

A line of thunderstorms moving southeast at roughly 30 knots will cross Lake Erie. These thunderstorms have a history of producing hail as large as 4 cm.

Large hail can damage vessels and cause injury. Vessels without lightning protection should make their way to shore immediately. Mariners are advised to prepare for squalls. If underway, seek safe harbour immediately.
