Issued 10:00 AM EDT 16 July 2024 Conditions are favourable for the development of squalls with wind gusts up to 50 knots and frequent lightning.

Thunderstorms over the west end of Lake Ontario are expected to track east through the day and strengthen over eastern Lake Ontario, reaching western sections of the St. Lawrence River near mid afternoon.

Mariners are advised to prepare for potential squalls. Vulnerable vessels are most at risk and should seek safe harbour if underway.
