Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM NST 27 January 2023 Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 p.m. NST today low 969 mb located over central Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Saturday departing low 980 mb located east of
Greenland.

At 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday ridge located over Labrador.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the East Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:43 PM NST 27 January 2023 An intense low pressure system over the Central Labrador Sea will
track northeastwards to lie east of the marine district by overnight
tonight and east of Greenland by Saturday afternoon. Gale force
southwesterly winds ahead of the low will shift to gale to storm
force northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will ease tonight and
Saturday as a ridge of high pressure builds in from the west.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Mid Labrador Coast and the Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect
for South Labrador Coast and North Labrador Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
