Over open water freezing spray today except severe freezing spray over western sections this morning. Freezing spray Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Temperatures minus 15 to minus 7 rising to minus 6 to zero Tuesday morning then falling to minus 15 to minus 7 Tuesday afternoon.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NDT 9 March 2026 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 4:00 a.m. NDT today quasi-stationary low 980 mb located north
of the Marine District.

At 4:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located over Labrador.
By 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight departing ridge located over the East
Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday approaching low 986 mb located over
western Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:43 AM NDT 9 March 2026 A low pressure north of the marine district will remain
quasistationary today. Strong to gale force westerlies to
northwesterlies over northern waters will diminish this afternoon.

A second area of low pressure will move over Western Labrador tonight
before crossing Southern Labrador Tuesday afternoon. Winds increase
to strong southwesterlies ahead of the low and gale force
northwesterlies as it passes.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
