At 4:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 984 mb located over the
southeastern Grand Banks.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 972 mb located over northern Funk
Island Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:53 AM NST 23 January 2021 A low pressure system over Belle Isle Bank will track southwestwardto lie over Anticosti Island tonight before dissipating on Sunday.
North of the low strong to gale force northeasterly to easterly winds
will spread across all southern waters today.
A second low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks will
move over northern funk isle bank tonight and will drift westward
across Southern Belle Isle Bank on Sunday. Strong to gale force
northeasterly to easterly winds will continue through Sunday north of
this low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Lake Melville, South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, South
Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea - southern half.
