At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight low 989 mb located over western Belle
Isle Bank.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Tuesday departing low 990 mb located southeast
of Greenland.
At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight ridge located over Quebec.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Tuesday ridge located over Labrador.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:16 PM NST 9 December 2024 An intense low pressure system located over Western Belle Isle Bankwill track northeastward tonight and Tuesday to lie southeast of
Greenland by Tuesday evening. Gale to storm force north to
northeasterlies over southern waters will shift to strong to gale
force northwesterlies then continue to diminish on Tuesday as the low
departs.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast and South Labrador Sea - southeastern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for Mid Labrador Coast - Hopedale and
south and East Labrador Sea - southeastern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Lake Melville and North Labrador Coast.
