Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:46 AM PST 4 November 2024 An intense low pressure system located over Hecate Strait will cross
the North and Central Coasts and into interior BC later this morning.

Ahead of the low, southerly gale to storm force winds have developed
over parts of the central and southern waters. Behind the low,
northwesterly gale to storm force winds are expected over much of the
outer waters and will spread into the inner south coastal waters
through this morning.

Most winds will gradually ease below gales by this evening as the low
departs and a ridge approaches. However, westerly gales through Juan
de Fuca Strait tonight will persist into the overnight period.

On Tuesday, another frontal system offshore crosses the northern and
central waters bringing southeasterly gale to storm force winds to
the region.
