Island.
By 10:30 a.m. PST Friday building ridge located over BC interior.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:15 PM PST 26 January 2023 A trough currently over Queen Charlotte Sound will track southwardstonight and lie over Southern Vancouver Island by Friday morning.
Meanwhile, a very strong ridge of high pressure will build into
Interior British Columbia in the coming days. Strong to gale force
northerly winds will develop between these two features, beginning in
southern waters on Friday and spreading north Friday night into
Saturday.
Strong to gale force outflow winds will develop in the coastal inlets
Friday night and are expected to strengthen to gale to storm
Force outflow on Saturday as the ridge of high pressure builds over
the interior.
