Issued 9:30 PM PDT 20 August 2019 Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight frontal system located on a line
north-south over eastern Haida Gwaii.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday frontal system located on a line
north-south over northern Vancouver Island.

At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight low 984 mb located 60 miles southwest
of Langara.
By 8:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday departing low 995 mb located near
Prince Rupert.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday building ridge located west of the
offshore waters.
By 5:00 p.m. PDT Wednesday building ridge located over the offshore
waters.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:27 PM PDT 20 August 2019 The centre of a low pressure system currently 60 miles southwest of
Langara will cross Haida Gwaii tonight then cross Prince Rupert into
the Northern British Columbia interior on Wednesday morning.
The associated front will continue swinging through the northern and
central waters late this evening and Progress across the South Coast
overnight and Wednesday morning.

Within the vicinity of the low centre, gale to storm force southeast
winds ahead of it will switch to gale to storm force northwest winds
in its wake. Affected marine regions include the northern and central
waters.

Gale to storm force southeast winds will accompany the associated
front. The front will weaken to strong to gale southeast winds as it
moves through the South Coast overnight and Wednesday morning. Strong
northwest winds are expected to follow the passage of the front.

A ridge of high pressure will build Wednesday after the entire system
moves out of the marine regions. Moderate to strong northwest winds
are expected for all marine regions except gale force winds along
parts of the west coast of Vancouver Island.
