Wind veering to west 50 to 60 after midnight with gusts to 70 then diminishing to west 40 to 50 Thursday morning. Wind diminishing to west 30 to 40 near noon Thursday and to west 20 to 30 Thursday afternoon.

Rain changing to showers Thursday morning. Risk of thunderstorms Thursday late in the day.

Issued 10:30 AM PST 11 February 2026 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:30 a.m. PST today ridge located over Port Hardy extending
southwestward.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today ridge located over Tofino extending
southwestward.

At 10:30 a.m. PST today cold front located off Langara.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today dissipating cold front located over Haida
Gwaii.

At 4:00 p.m. PST today intensifying low 978 mb located west
of Bowie.
By 10:30 a.m. PST Thursday low 981 mb located north of Bowie.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:15 AM PST 11 February 2026 A cold front will remain over northern waters today generating strong
to gale force southerly winds over northern and central waters.

An intense area of low pressure will approach the offshore waters
this afternoon then move into the Gulf of Alaska tonight. Widespread
gale force southerly winds are forecast for central waters and Hecate
Strait. Waters near and west of Haida Gwaii will see storm force
southerly and westerly winds tonight and Thursday morning.
