Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 5 December 2024 Today Tonight and Friday At 4:00 a.m. NST today departing trough located over the southern
East Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 a.m. NST Friday approaching low 976 mb located off
Anticosti Island.

At 4:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over western Labrador.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the East Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:41 AM NST 5 December 2024 An intensifying low pressure system will approach the marine district
from the southwest Friday morning and track northeastward to lie over
the mid Labrador cost by Friday evening. Gale to storm force
southeast to northeasterlies ahead of the low will spread across all
waters on Friday morning before shifting to strong to gale force
southerlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea,
Northwest Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for North Labrador Coast.
