Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM NST 27 January 2021 Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight intensifying trough located on a line
east-west over the South Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Thursday trough located over Belle Isle Bank.

At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over western Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:10 PM NST 27 January 2021 A trough of low pressure over the South Labrador Sea will intensify
tonight while slowly drifting southward. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies will persist in the wake of the trough.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Mid
Labrador Coast and the North Labrador Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except South Labrador Sea and
the East Labrador Sea.
