Issued 9:30 AM NDT 12 March 2026 Today Tonight and Friday At 9:30 a.m. NDT today low 991 mb located southeast of the EastLabrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT today departing low 994 mb located southeast
of Greenland.
At 4:00 a.m. NDT Friday deepening low 993 mb located over western
Newfoundland.
By 9:30 p.m. NDT Friday low 963 mb located over Belle Isle Bank.
At 9:30 a.m. NDT today ridge located from Funk Island Bank to
Hudson Bay.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Friday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the East Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:21 AM NDT 12 March 2026 An intense low pressure system southeast of the Labrador Sea willcontinue to track eastward to lie southeast of Greenland by this
afternoon. Strong to gale force northwesterly winds behind this low
will gradually ease today as a ridge of high pressure builds in from
the west.
A deepening low pressure system will approach the marine district
from the southwest on Friday. Gale to storm force northwesterlies to
northerlies will develop over southern waters on Friday ahead of the
low.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast and South Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in
effect for Mid Labrador Coast, Northwest Labrador Sea, and East
Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
