Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 2 March 2021 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 a.m. NST today weakening low 991 mb located over Ungava Bay.
By 4:00 p.m. NST today dissipating low 999 mb located over
southeastern Baffin Island.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today trough located over southwestern
By 9:30 a.m. NST Wednesday intensifying trough located on a line
east-west over the South Labrador Coast.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:04 AM NST 2 March 2021 A low pressure system over Ungava Bay will track northward and weaken
today. Gale force southeasterlies over northwestern waters ahead of
this low will diminish later this morning as the low weakens.

Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure will sweep northward across
Newfoundland to lie over Belle Isle Bank by Wednesday morning.
An intense low pressure system will form in the trough and move to
lie over Southeastern Labrador Wednesday evening. Strong to gale
force east to southeasterly winds will spread northward across most
waters today ahead of this trough. Winds will increase to gale to
storm force east to northeasterlies later on Wednesday as the low
forms and deepens.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
