Issued 4:00 AM NST 28 January 2023 Today Tonight and Sunday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 969 mb located north of the EastLabrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST today departing low 980 mb located east of
Greenland.
At 4:00 a.m. NST today trough located near James Bay.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Sunday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Northwest Labrador Sea.
At 4:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over Labrador.
By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the East Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:55 AM NST 28 January 2023 An intense low pressure system north of the East Labrador Sea willmove to lie east of Greenland by this afternoon. Gale to storm force
northwesterly winds in the wake of the trough will diminish as a
ridge of high pressure builds in from the west.
Another trough of low pressure near James Bay will track
northeastward today and track across the Labrador Sea on Sunday.
Strong southwesterlies ahead of the trough will veer to strong to
gale force northwesterlies in the wake of the trough on Sunday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
