By 4:00 p.m. NDT today departing low 979 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.
At 4:00 p.m. NDT today trough located on a line north-south
over Quebec.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT Tuesday trough located on a line north-south over
Labrador Sea.
At 9:30 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
the Mid Labrador Coast.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Tuesday ridge located east of the East Labrador
Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:16 AM NDT 13 April 2026 A low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will continue trackingnortheastward away from the marine district. Strong to gale force
northerlies to northwesterlies over southern waters will diminish
this morning.
A trough of low pressure over Quebec will move to lie over the
Labrador Sea by Tuesday afternoon. Strong to gale force
southeasterlies will develop this afternoon ahead of the trough and
shift to strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake on Tuesday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Mid
Labrador Coast - north of Hopedale, North Labrador Coast, South
Labrador Sea, and Northwest Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Sea - northwestern half, Northwest Labrador
Sea, and East Labrador Sea.
