Issued 07:34 AM MDT 20 October 2019 Blizzard conditions developing in Lancaster Sound overnight Sunday. These conditions are expected to persist until overnight Monday or early Tuesday morning.


Easterly winds near 25 kt have developed in Lancaster Sound and will steadily increase throughout the day today, reaching gale strength by this afternoon. Winds are forecast to increase to 40-45 kt by late Sunday night accompanied by falling snow, producing blizzard conditions until the winds begin to taper off early Tuesday morning.
