Wind southeast 15 to 25 knots becoming northwest 20 to 30 this afternoon then diminishing to northwest 10 to 20 early this evening. Wind diminishing to light late this evening then increasing to southeast 5 to 15 Sunday morning. Wind increasing to southeast 15 to 25 Sunday afternoon and to southeast 25 to 35 Sunday evening.

Rain changing to showers this evening then to rain Sunday evening.

Issued 4:00 AM PST 14 December 2024 Today Tonight and Sunday At 4:00 a.m. PST today low 980 mb located over southeastern
Explorer.
By 10:30 a.m. PST today low 980 mb located over western Vancouver
Island.

At 1:00 p.m. PST today low 987 mb located over the northern Strait
of Georgia.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today low located over BC interior.

At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight building ridge located over the offshore
waters.

At 4:00 p.m. PST Sunday trough located west of Explorer.
By 9:30 p.m. PST Sunday trough located over Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:23 AM PST 14 December 2024 A low pressure system will approach West Vancouver Island this
morning. It will slowly cross Vancouver Island and move to the B.C.
Interior by late afternoon.

Over the southern and central waters, gale to storm force southeast
winds will persist ahead of the low and gale to storm force north
Or northwest winds will follow behind the low. These winds will
diminish as the low moves to the B.C. Interior and a ridge of high
pressure builds on tonight.

The next system is approaching on Sunday afternoon, bringing
widespread gale to storm force southeast winds to mainly the outer
coasts.
