Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM PDT 11 March 2026 Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today trough located from Bowie to Cape Scott.
By 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight weakening trough located from Bowie to
the Central Coast.

At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight low located off Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday weakening low located over Queen
Charlotte Sound.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:40 PM PDT 11 March 2026 A trough of low pressure is tracking across the central waters late
this afternoon and will weaken over the Central Coast this evening.
In its wake, strong to gale force westerlies will develop over
offshore and southern waters late this afternoon and then spread to
the inner South Coast this evening. Juan de Fuca Strait may crest
storm force with the westerlies this evening and after midnight.
Storm force gusts are also possible across Haro Strait and Southern
Strait of Georgia this evening.

Winds will gradually ease Thursday morning but strong to gale force
westerlies will continue over offshore and central waters as another
low tracks across Southern Bowie during the day.
