Issued 4:00 PM PDT 20 August 2019 Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today frontal system located on a line north-south
over eastern Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday frontal system located on a line
north-south over northern Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today low 985 mb located over northern Bowie.
By 8:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday departing low 995 mb located over the
North Coast.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday building ridge located west of the
offshore waters.
By 5:00 p.m. PDT Wednesday building ridge located over the offshore
waters.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:59 PM PDT 20 August 2019 The centre of a low pressure system west of Haida Gwaii late this
afternoon will cross Haida Gwaii tonight then cross the north
Coast into the BC Interior on Wednesday morning. The associated front
will swing through the northern and central waters tonight and
Progress across the South Coast overnight and Wednesday morning.

Within the vicinity of the low centre, storm to gale force southeast
winds ahead of it will switch to storm to gale force northwest winds
in its wake. Affected marine regions include the northern and
Central waters.

Gale to storm force southeast winds will accompany the associated
front. The front will weaken to gale to strong southeast winds as it
moves through the South Coast overnight and Wednesday morning.
Strong northwest winds are expected to follow the passage the front.

A ridge of high pressure will build Wednesday after the entire
System moves out of the marine regions. Widespread moderate to
Strong northwest winds are expected for all marine regions except
gale force winds along parts of the west coast of Vancouver Island.
