Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 9:30 PM PDT 20 October 2019 Tonight and Monday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight dissipating low located over Hecate Strait.
At 4:00 a.m. PDT Monday low located west of the offshore waters.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Monday departing low located over Haida Gwaii.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:29 AM PDT 21 October 2019 A vigorous low pressure system will move across northern waters today
making land fall on the North Coast this evening. Gale force
southeast winds ahead of the low will switch to gale to storm force
westerlies in its wake.
Gale force southwesterly winds will funnel up the North Coast
mainland inlets as the low moves into northern Interior British
The associated frontal passage will impact the South Coast as well.
Gale force southeasterlies will develop in the Northern Georgia
strait this afternoon and abruptly switch to strong northwesterlies
Tuesday morning. Westerly gale force winds will also impact the Juan
de Fuca Strait tonight through Tuesday morning.
