Issued 9:30 PM PDT 20 May 2024 Tonight and Tuesday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight departing ridge located southwest ofVancouver Island.
At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Central Coast.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Tuesday trough located on a line north-south over
Vancouver Island.
At 4:00 a.m. PDT Tuesday building ridge located west of Bowie.
By 9:30 p.m. PDT Tuesday ridge located on a line north-south
over Bowie.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:14 PM PDT 20 May 2024 A ridge of high pressure just southwest of Vancouver Island willcontinue to track south this evening. Moderate to strong northwest
winds are occurring ahead of this ridge. As the ridge of high
pressure moves south, marginal westerly gales will funnel through
Juan de Fuca Strait tonight.
A trough will dig south in Explorer tonight with a building ridge
west of Bowie. This combination will strengthen the northwesterly
winds to gale force across the southern waters late Tuesday.
