An upper low will move to lie over Vancouver Island tonight, bringing a cool and unstable airmass to the area. This airmass provides favourable conditions for the formation of waterspouts over the Strait of Georgia and the mouth of Howe Sound tonight and Saturday morning.

Issued 9:30 PM PDT 5 June 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight weakening low 1011 mb located over
southeastern Explorer.
By 8:00 a.m. PDT Saturday dissipating low located over Vancouver
Island.

At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight building ridge located west of Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Saturday ridge located on a line north-south over
Haida Gwaii.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT Saturday approaching frontal system located west
of the offshore waters.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:42 PM PDT 5 June 2026 A low pressure system will move to lie over Vancouver Island tonight.
This system will provide conditions that are favourable for the
formation of waterspouts over the Strait of Georgia and the mouth of
Howe Sound tonight and Saturday morning.
