Issued 4:00 PM PST 13 December 2025 Tonight and Sunday At 4:00 p.m. PST today weakening frontal system located from theCentral Coast to Explorer.
At 7:00 p.m. PST tonight trough located west of Explorer.
By 7:00 a.m. PST Sunday departing trough located over Hecate Strait.
At 7:00 a.m. PST Sunday frontal system located west of Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Sunday intensifying frontal system located from
Haida Gwaii to Explorer.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:58 PM PST 13 December 2025 A weakening frontal system will stall over the Central Coast thisevening. Southerly gales are expected over the central waters and the
northern portion of the inner South Coast this evening.
A trough will cross Southern Bowie and Northern Explorer this
evening, reaching Hecate Strait early Sunday morning. Gale to locally
storm force southwesterlies are expected to develop over the offshore
waters this evening, then spread across the central and northern
waters overnight.
Another frontal system will move over Bowie Sunday morning and reach
Haida Gwaii by afternoon, spreading gale to locally storm force
southeasterly winds. This front will then intensify from Explorer
Sunday afternoon, with winds ahead of the front increasing to storm
force, possibly reaching hurricane force over Hecate Strait Sunday
evening.
