Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM PDT 16 October 2026 Today Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 a.m. PDT today frontal system located over Haida Gwaii.
By 8:00 a.m. PDT today weakening frontal system located from Prince
Rupert to Cape Scott.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today trough located over Explorer.
By 2:00 a.m. PDT Saturday trough located over the Central Coast.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:28 PM PDT 15 October 2026 A strong frontal system west of Haida Gwaii is producing gale to
storm force southeasterlies over the northern and central waters
tonight. Winds will shift to moderate to strong westerlies Friday
morning as the front moves inland.

A trough of low pressure will move into Explorer Friday afternoon and
reach the Central Coast overnight. Gale force westerlies are expected
near the trough.
