Wind diminishing to westerly 5 to 15 this afternoon then becoming easterly 5 to 15 this evening. Wind increasing to southeast 15 to 20 Sunday morning and to southeast 20 to 25 near noon Sunday. Wind increasing to southeast 25 to 35 Sunday evening.

Showers today and tonight. Rain Sunday late in the day. Fog patches dissipating late this morning.

Issued 4:00 AM PDT 23 September 2023 Today Tonight and Sunday At 4:00 a.m. PDT today trough located off Vancouver Island.
By 1:00 p.m. PDT today weakening trough located over Vancouver
Island.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today trough located west of Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Sunday intensifying trough located over Bowie.

At 5:00 p.m. PDT Sunday intensifying frontal system located
southwest of Explorer.
By 11:00 p.m. PDT Sunday frontal system located off Vancouver
Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:54 AM PDT 23 September 2023 A trough off Vancouver Island will cross the island near noon. Strong
to gale force southerly winds are expected ahead of the trough.
In its wake, winds will shift to strong to gale force northwest over
west coast Vancouver Island late this morning then ease to moderate
southwest as the trough moves inland.

A deep low pressure system is expected to spread gale to storm force
winds across the BC waters Sunday through Monday. Initially, a trough
will bring southerly gale and storm force winds to the central and
northern waters on Sunday morning. An intensifying frontal system
will cross Explorer late Sunday, spreading storm to local hurricane
force southeasterly winds across southern and central waters Sunday
evening.
