When: Tonight and Saturday morning.

An upper low will move to lie over Vancouver Island tonight, bringing a cool and unstable airmass to the area. This airmass provides favourable conditions for the formation of waterspouts over the Strait of Georgia and the mouth of Howe Sound tonight and Saturday morning.

By 4:00 a.m. PDT Saturday weakening low located west of Tofino.

At 10:30 a.m. PDT today building ridge located west of Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Saturday ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Bowie.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:33 AM PDT 5 June 2026 A low pressure system will approach Vancouver Island tonight.
This system will provide conditions that are favourable for the
formation of waterspouts over the Strait of Georgia and the mouth of
Howe Sound tonight and Saturday morning.
