By 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Vancouver Island.
At 10:30 a.m. PDT today trough located on a line north-south over
Haida Gwaii.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Tuesday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Tuesday approaching ridge located west of Bowie.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:16 AM PDT 20 May 2024 A ridge of high pressure over the central waters will track southeasttoday. Moderate to strong northwest winds are occurring ahead of this
ridge. As the ridge of high pressure moves south, marginal westerly
gales will likely funnel through Juan de Fuca Strait tonight.
A trough over Haida Gwaii this morning will sweep across the BC coast
today and Tuesday. Northwesterly winds will strengthen to gale force
across the southern waters late in the day Tuesday in the wake of the
trough.
