Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM PDT 7 October 2026 Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Cape Scott.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday departing ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Tofino.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today frontal system located over southern Bowie.
By 1:00 a.m. PDT Thursday departing frontal system located over
Hecate Strait.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday approaching frontal system located on
a line northeast-southwest over northwestern Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:56 PM PDT 7 October 2026 A weak low pressure system will track across Haida Gwaii this
evening. Strong easterlies ahead of the low will shift to strong
southwesterlies in its wake.

Another low pressure system will approach Northern Explorer Thursday
afternoon, bringing strong to gale force southwesterlies to the
southern waters and strong to gale force northwesterlies to the
northern waters.
