Wind southeast 40 to 50 knots becoming northwest 40 to 50 early this morning then diminishing to northwest 25 to 35 this afternoon. Wind diminishing to northwest 15 to 25 early this evening then becoming northwesterly 15 late this evening. Wind diminishing to light late overnight then increasing to southeast 15 to 25 Sunday morning. Wind increasing to southeast 30 to 40 Sunday afternoon and to southeast 40 to 50 Sunday evening.

Rain changing to showers this evening then to rain Sunday afternoon.

Explorer.
By 10:30 a.m. PST today low 980 mb located over western Vancouver
Island.

At 1:00 p.m. PST today low 987 mb located over the northern Strait
of Georgia.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today low located over BC interior.

At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight building ridge located over the offshore
waters.

At 4:00 p.m. PST Sunday trough located west of Explorer.
By 9:30 p.m. PST Sunday trough located over Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:23 AM PST 14 December 2024 A low pressure system will approach West Vancouver Island this
morning. It will slowly cross Vancouver Island and move to the B.C.
Interior by late afternoon.

Over the southern and central waters, gale to storm force southeast
winds will persist ahead of the low and gale to storm force north
Or northwest winds will follow behind the low. These winds will
diminish as the low moves to the B.C. Interior and a ridge of high
pressure builds on tonight.

The next system is approaching on Sunday afternoon, bringing
widespread gale to storm force southeast winds to mainly the outer
coasts.
