Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM PDT 23 September 2021 Today Tonight and Friday At 4:00 a.m. PDT today frontal system located over western Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Friday frontal system located from the Alaska
panhandle to Langara then to Bowie.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT today quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over northern Vancouver Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:51 AM PDT 23 September 2021 A frontal system will approach the North Coast today. Ahead of the
front, southerly gales will spread over the northern waters this
morning. Local storm force southeasterlies are expected tonight over
Northern Hecate Strait and Dixon Entrance East. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies will prevail in the wake of the front.

The frontal system will remain quasi-stationary over the northern
waters tonight then move slowly eastward across Haida Gwaii on
Friday. Southerly gales ahead of the front will ease to strong on
Friday. Winds will become moderate to strong westerly behind the
front.
