Wind light increasing to southeast 10 to 20 knots Thursday morning and to southeast 20 to 30 near noon Thursday. Wind increasing to southeast 30 to 40 early Thursday evening except southeast 50 near the headlands Thursday evening.

Scattered showers Thursday morning and afternoon changing to rain. Fog patches forming near midnight and dissipating near noon Thursday.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM PDT 2 October 2024 Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight ridge located from Explorer to the
Central Coast.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Thursday weakening ridge located from Explorer
to the South Coast.

At 11:00 a.m. PDT Thursday deepening low located west of Explorer.
By 11:00 a.m. PDT Friday departing low 998 mb located over northern
Vancouver Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:11 PM PDT 2 October 2024 A low pressure system will track across Explorer Thursday night.
Ahead of the low, southeast gales will develop over Explorer Thursday
afternoon and then spread to central waters in the evening with
marginal storm force near the headlands of Vancouver Island.

Winds will back to northwest gales to storm force winds immediately
behind the low before diminishing to strong westerlies midday Friday.
