By 10:30 a.m. PDT Friday frontal system located over the Central
Coast extending southwestward.
At 4:00 p.m. PDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
southern Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Friday weakening ridge located over southern
Vancouver Island.
At 4:00 p.m. PDT Friday low located over Explorer.
By midnight PDT Friday low located over Hecate Strait.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:31 PM PDT 30 July 2026 A frontal system over Hecate Strait will continue to track eastwardthis evening, reaching the north and Central Coast overnight.
Ahead of the front, southeasterly gales over the northern and central
waters will continue through this evening and tonight. In the wake of
the front, winds will ease to moderate to strong southerlies.
On Friday, a low pressure system will generate southerly marginal
gale force winds near the centre as it tracks across Explorer late
Friday afternoon and Queen Charlotte Sound Friday night.
