TRANS-CANADA HIGHWAY - EAGLE PASS TO ROGERS PASS
SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

Significant snowfall for B.C. mountain passes on Sunday and Monday Where: Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt, Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, Trans - Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass. When: Beginning on Saturday, intensifying throughout Sunday, and tapering off Monday. Threat: - Reduced visibility in heavy snow - Challenging driving conditions due to rapidly accumulating snow - Local blowing snow Remark: A large low pressure system will bring significant snowfall to B.C. mountains beginning on Saturday. As the low intensifies on Sunday, snowfall accumulation will rapidly increase across the highway passes. Snow levels will also lower to near valley bottom in the wake of the cold front associated with this low. Local blowing snow is possible in wind-prone areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Stay tuned to your local forecasts and Travellers Route bulletin for the latest forecast. Check DriveBC for the latest road conditions. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Road conditions are available at drivebc.ca. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
