At 9:33 AM CST, a line of severe thunderstorms is located from about Jansen to Magyar then to 60 km south of McLean. These severe thunderstorms are moving northeast at 60 km/h. Damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain are possible. Locations and nearby areas that could be impacted include: Dysart, Vibank, Lestock, Odessa, Lipton, Fort San, Fort Qu'Appelle, Indian Head, Kelliher, Wynyard Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. An area of thunderstorms, some of which may become severe, will make it's way through parts of southern and central Saskatchewan this morning. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
