Higher than normal water levels with large waves are expected near the coast.

Coastal flood warning due to waves issued jointly by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Science) and the Meteorological Service of Canada - Quebec Area on 2022-01-17.


Higher than normal water levels and large waves are expected near the coast over the concerned period.

An intense low pressure system will give strong winds over areas mentioned below. The combination of these winds and the current run of mid tidal ranges could produce minor breaking sea conditions along the coast near these localities on the dates and at the times specified (local time).


Forillon Park - Gaspé - Percé: 2022-01-18, from 01:00 AM to 04:00 AM.

New-Carlisle - Chandler: 2022-01-18, from 01:00 AM to 04:00 AM.

Sept-Îles - Port-Cartier: 2022-01-18, from 12:00 AM to 03:00 AM.

Natashquan: 2022-01-17, from 09:15 PM to 12:15 AM on the 2022-01-18

High waves combined with the surge may cause damage along the coast. Expect some damage in areas directly exposed to high waves.
