Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Grande-Rivière - Cascapédia area
  • Mont-Albert area
  • Murdochville area

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

40 to 60 centimetres of snow, strong to high winds and widespread blowing snow are expected Sunday and Monday.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Road closures are possible.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Grande-Rivière - Cascapédia area
  • Mont-Albert area
  • Murdochville area

Heavy snowfall with blowing snow is expected.

Between 30 and 65 centimetres of snow and blowing snow are expected for Sunday and Monday.

An intense winter storm will move across New England Sunday, then the Gulf of St. Lawrence on Monday. It will affect the Gaspé Peninsula, bringing significant snowfall amounts and strong to high winds that will cause widespread blowing snow.
The storm will begin Sunday morning and continue through Tuesday.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
