Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

  • Salluit

A prolonged period of very cold wind chills continues.

An Arctic air mass combined with moderate to strong winds is producing wind chill values near minus 52. This cold air mass will remain in place for several days. Wind chill values below minus 50 are mainly expected in the overnight and early morning hours.

Synthetic and wool fabrics provide good insulation.

Keep dry to stay warmer.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
