Blizzard warning in effect for:
- Postville - Makkovik
Blizzard conditions with poor visibility in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring.
Locations: Hopedale to Makkovik.
Further snowfall tonight: ranging from 2 to 4 cm near Hopedale to 5 to 10 cm near Makkovik.
Maximum wind gusts: northerly 90 to 100 km/h.
Time span: ending after midnight.
Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone.
Blizzard warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours.
