- Stanley - Doaktown - Blackville Area
An extended period of rain is expected during the Easter weekend.
Rain along with warmer temperatures will develop tonight and continue through to Sunday as a series of low pressure systems pass west of New Brunswick. The rain will be mixed with some snow or ice pellets during the start of the precipitation tonight. The rain will ease to scattered showers on Friday before returning Friday night.
Rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm are forecast for tonight through Friday afternoon. Additional amounts are expected Friday night through Sunday, bringing the total rainfall over the three days to 50 to 80 mm with a possibility of 100 mm or more over portions of the northwest. These forecast amounts will be refined closer to the weekend. Rainfall warnings are in effect for extreme northwestern regions of the province for the rain beginning tonight, and will likely be extended further to the southeast as the system approaches.
This rainfall combined with snowmelt will enhance the threat of flooding.
