Ice build-up due to freezing rain is expected. What: Moderate rainfall changing to freezing rain tonight into Friday then snowfall through the day on Friday. Where: Parts of northern Manitoba When: Rain changing to freezing rain overnight tonight into Friday morning. Comments: A strong spring system will bring moderate rainfall with accumulations of 10 to 20 mm on Thursday. As temperatures fall on Thursday night, precipitation will change over to freezing rain by Friday morning. Accumulations of 2 to 5 mm are expected. By late Friday, precipitation will change to snow with a few cm expected. Local utility outages are possible. Be very careful if walking or driving. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to create ice build-up. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
