the Grand Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Thursday intensifying low 996 mb located over
southern Ontario.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday low 984 mb located south of Anticosti
Island.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:44 AM AST 4 December 2024 A low pressure system will rapidly intensify as it crosses theMaritimes on Thursday. Southerly winds will increase to gale to storm
force ahead of the low, with strong to gale force westerlies in its
wake.
Higher than normal water levels are also possible along the Acadian
Peninsula on Thursday evening during high tide.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
georges banks - southern half, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore -
eastern half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, and Gulf-Magdalen - eastern
half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
