Issued 8:00 PM AST 15 January 2026 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight trough located from East Scotian Slopeto the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday departing trough located on a line
north-south over the Grand Banks.
At 8:00 p.m. AST Friday approaching ridge located from New England
to Quebec.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 8:24 PM AST 15 January 2026 A trough extending from East Scotian Slope to the Gulf of St.Lawrence will stall tonight, then move east of the district Friday
afternoon. Gale to storm force southerlies ahead of the trough will
veer to gale to storm force westerlies or southwesterlies behind it.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, and
Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou, and
Anticosti.
