Issued 9:30 PM NST 20 January 2026 Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight trough from 990 mb low located from the
low to Ungava Bay.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Wednesday trough from 973 mb low located from
the low to the Mid Labrador Coast.

At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 990 mb located over northern
Belle Isle Bank.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 973 mb located east of the South
Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:25 PM NST 20 January 2026 A low pressure system over the Belle Isle Bank will deepen and track
northwards to lie over the South Labrador Sea by overnight tonight.
Meanwhile a trough extending northwestward from the low to Ungava Bay
will slowly drift southward throughout the forecast period. Strong to
gale force northeasterlies will persist north of the trough while
gale to storm force southwest to northwesterlies develop to its south
later tonight.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except East Labrador Sea.
